It was on October 12, 1894 that Silva Almeida and Santos Pereira founded in Braga the Saboaria e Perfumaria Confiança.
The production line that was initially intended exclusively for the manufacture of Offenbach soap whose unmatched quality offers the company an enviable reputation, later extended to the production of soap meant for skin care and fine perfumery.
With its eyes set on the future and relying on the loyal relationship maintained with its customers Confiança decided to take the leap and began the production of high quality cosmetic products in Portugal.
Confiança's own brands were launched, with original designs and formulas. Infrastructures were expanded and a new typography and cartoning department was created to handle the packaging needs.
In 1919 the vast variety of products produced and marketed by Confiança already included fragrant soaps, rice powders, colognes, medicinal soaps, extrafine extracts and oils from former Portuguese colonies, distributed by about 150 different brands.
In order to respond to the new and luxurious lifestyles of the second half of the 20th century, as well as the incessant requests of its consumers, Confiança begins to develop new cosmetics, either adapting formulas or developing them from scratch. During this time there was a boom in production, mainly of the liquid form's (which at the time were the latest novelty) of shower gel and fragrant shampoo.
A hundred years after its establishment, Confiança continues to write its story. A rich history, consisting of many battles aswell as conquests. Nowadays Confiança continues to differentiate itself by applying its own production methods and its "historical know-how" that offers a wide range of innovative and high quality products adapted to the needs of the customer's current lifestyle. A brand that remains true to itself, not forgetting its origin but with a keen eye on the future.
